Benzylammonium iodide (BnAI; BzAI; CAS Number: 45579-91-7) is an organic salt used in the preparation of perovskite-based systems. Benzylammonium iodide (also known as phenylmethylamine iodide) is deposited as an additive to induce the self-crystallisation of 2D perovskite on top of a 3D perovskite light absorber resulting in high power conversion efficiency and long‐term stability of perovskite solar cells (Kim et al., 2020). Benzylammonium iodide is also used as a precursor for the synthesis of high-speed perovskite light‐emitting diodes (Zhao et al., 2021).
