4-Fluorobenzylammonium iodide (FBZAI; CAS Number: 2097121-30-5) is a precursor in the synthesis of perovskite-based opto-electronic systems. The incorporation of 4-fluorobenzylammonium iodide enabled an increase of the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of perovskite solar cells by passivating defects and improving charge transport (He et al., 2021). The fluorinated benzene moiety conferred a hydrophobic character to the perovskite film enhancing the device stability against moisture. 4-fluorobenzylammonium iodide was also used as an additive to form a tin-based perovskite solar cell with enhanced PCE (Zou et al., 2022).
